Remote Learning Series: Nearpod
Updated: Sep 7, 2021
A lot of teachers around the world are transitioning to a remote learning environment due to the COVI-19 outbreak.
The eTwinz have created a series focus on remote learning where they will share five scenarios of remote learning.
Welcome to the fifth blog of this series: Nearpod

NEARPOD
"Nearpod is a tool to engage your students with interactive activities and collaborative discussions. Teachers share a live session, students enter a code, and the lesson is synced to all devices"
Nearpod is a great tool to engage students in a remote learning environment. You have two ways to use Nearpod in this scenario:
1. Live Lesson
2. Student-paced

Live lesson mode
This mode allows you to teach a lesson from your home while the students have your presentation synced in their devices. You can also add many activities to engage your students throughout your presentation.

Student-Paced mode
"Self-paced and independent. Students can join a lesson anytime, from anywhere"
If you are using this mode, Nearpod has a great feature that allows the teacher to record himself or enter a Flipgrid video to teach a lesson.

After students are done watching the recording of the lesson the teacher may enter different activities to check for understanding.

Nearpod is a great free, user-friendly and engaging tool that will help you to transition to a remote learning environment.
